Leaving Tokyo

Hi all you guys and gals!!

I am leaving Tokyo today and I am headed for Chiba, Chiba. It is a prefecture (state) about 1 1/2 hours from here. I will be there until the weekend. Here is a pic of the outside of the hotel I have been staying here in Tokyo as well as some pics of the art they have on the walls. Well, I am experiencing an error code that won't let me upload the pics. I will try again later. Probably after I get to Chiba. Oh, by the way, the Prime Minister and the Crown Prince and Crown Princess were here Friday. There was security everywhere and they shut down the elevators while they were here. I caught a glimpse of the entourage, not sure who was who though! It was something to see with the secret service persons everywhere with the ear peices on and extremely alert to everyone and everything around.............

All of you interested in the food around here need to take a look at this! This is how you know what each restaurant is serving. They have plastic models of their food that looks exactly like what they serve. Totally HOT dude!

TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!

Today was totally awesome!!! Today was a free day to do what we wanted. I chose to hang around Tokyo and check out some places. I went to the Tokyo Anime Center and got some really cool pics and presents. I also went back to a shopping district where the teenagers dress up really different! Check out some of the pics! Oh, by the way, the telephones are really cool and their toilets, well..........see for your self!

Hi to my Anime Club

I just thought I would let you know (tease you a bit) that I will be going to an Anime Museum tomorrow. I will also be visiting a few stores that specialize and sale only true anime art, manga, videos etc. I will try to get some cool pics for you as well as pick up a few things. Friday Tokyo/Thursday USA

Hi all,

The food is GREAT so far. We went into a shopping district last night the I think everyone would just love. It is very unique. It is hard to explain, but I will try to get some pics later tonight. Wasn't able to get them last night. I went to the fish market bright and early this morning, here are a few pics (again I hope) and possible a video or 2 (if it works). I will be able to write more tomorrow b/c we have more free time. Hopefully, here are the pics!!!!!!!

Wednesday in Tokyo, Tuesday in USA

Hi everyone. I made it safe and sound. This is the first time I am able to sit and write. They keep us very busy. I hope I am writing this in the proper spot b/c everything is translated in Japanese. All the icons and info etc. so I ma not sure what's what. Any way, I am in Tokyo and we were able to visit their governtment building today and go to a Temple/Shrine area that is also a large tourist attraction. I have souveniers for those students who are not givng the substitute a hard time!!!!!! Here are a few pictures I took today........I hope.

My name is Mary Macklin. I have 5 children and was made a grandmother for the first time on Sept. 26, 2007. Needless to say, it will be hard leaving this wonderful gift for 3 weeks, but...........

I teach high school biology and I am the Science Content Leader/Dept. Head. I have been teaching for 14 years. I love my job as an educator and can't wait to bring back to my students and community my experirences in Japan.
